This week on BMTV we are joined once again by Chris Horne who shows how to create a stunning tropical themed organic design, using a hoop!

Tropical is a big trend currently and Chris creates a design using the new Sempertex Fashion Raspberry colour, along with Fashion Yellow and Fashion Lime Green. He shows a bouquet design he created using these colours, which he puts together with a 31 inch Iridescent Pineapple Supershape.

Hoops are also being used a lot in designs and created for weddings, photo backdrops and parties! You can purchase hoops already made but Chris has made his own using a wooden square base and flexi plumbing pipe for the hoop. You take a length of pipe and make into a circle and insert a piece of dowel to attach the two ends together. The hoop can then be attached to the wooden base, using two screws.

You can then get started on attaching your balloons – in this design Chris uses 5 inch Fashion Raspberry latex, along with Fashion Yellow and Fashion Lime Green. He creates clusters of Fashion Raspberry latex in varying sizes and attaches them to the hoop using standard ribbon. Then he adds in the occasional Yellow and Lime Green balloon into the design.

He then adds in a few white roses to the design, again attaching using standard ribbon to give it a more organic look. He also adds in some leaves into various parts of the hoop design. What’s great about this design is that it is air-filled, but you can add in helium filled balloons to the design if you want. He attaches a bouquet of three fashion raspberry balloons to the top of the hoop, which adds another element to the design but also adds value!
