Everyone knows ‘Time is money!’ so for Balloon Basics 21 on BMTV, Greg asked Chris Horne from Amscan to demonstrate how he ties a foil balloon at lightning speed!

Chris revealed he uses a slip knot method. This is speedy and efficient with practise. What’s more, if you’re not completely happy with the knot or perhaps you notice the balloon is faulty after tying, you can easily remove the ribbon from the balloon.

So, this is how Chris does it:

1) Hold the neck of the balloon between your thumb and index finger.

2) Next, make a loop in the ribbon by placing your middle finger and ring finger on your balloon-holding hand through the loop.

Bring the ends of the ribbon up between your two fingers and close them, gripping the ribbon.

Bring the ribbon loop over the ends of your two fingers.

3) Next, fold the neck of the balloon in half and place the neck through the loop.

4) Fold the neck up again and pull the ends of the ribbon down to create the tight knot.

Et voila! You’re a knot-tying pro!
