Balloon Basics 25 – Make an Apple Twist in a Balloon

On this episode of Balloon Basics, Doctor Bob joins us to show how to create the versatile Apple Twist. Apple Twists can be used for many different things, from car wheels to toadstools, you can even create a cover for weights!

1) Inflate your balloon using a hand pump so that the balloon is over-inflated.

2) Let some air out of the balloon so that the balloon is the size you would like it to be.

3) Tie a knot as close to the bottom of the neck of the balloon as you can!

4) Using your index finger, push the knot through the balloon and grab it with your other hand – this can be a bit fiddly and requires a bit of practice!

5) Pull your index finger out of the balloon and twist the knot 3 or 4 rotations.

6) Whilst still holding the knot, take your 160Q and wrap this around the knot and tie it off (as you would with a Deco Bubble) to secure the knot in place. This also provides an attachment point should you need to connect something to it.

You can also connect another 160Q in step 3 near the neck of the balloon to add a second attachment point. Then you can attach both sides with ease.

Happy twisting!
