Halloween is upon us but there is still time to order balloons and party supplies for the event. We won’t be ordering anymore stock in so get everything you need right now to avoid dissapointment! Health Warning for Black Friday!

Do you remember Black Friday last year? You probably saw it on TV when people rushed to buy discounted products from supermarkets and retail shops. It got quite heated as people were fighting each other for “TV’s for £50” and other cheap, cheap products! we do love a bargain in this country and it is estimated that retailers in this year’s Black Friday will experience sales of around 1 billion pounds! The highest ever for a 1-day sale. So Greg’s advice is first off to avoid any shops where you’re likely to get hurt and secondly to buy your balloons in advance to avoid late deliveries! Last year all the delivery companies were caught out by the sheer number of parcels that went through their system as a result of Black Friday sales. We use DPD (because they’re the best!) and it took them over a week to clear the backlog of parcels from the unexpected uplift in demand. To play it safe, it is best to order your balloons and party supplies on the 23^rd or 24^th of November if you need them for the weekend or the Monday after Black Friday. If you place your order towards the end of the week, your parcel will be competing with thousands of other parcels and might not arrive in time for your event.

Speaking of couriers, we have managed to decrease our courier charge! It used to be £8 but now it’s gone down to £6.95. We’ve also managed to lower our charges for delivery to the highlands and islands as well as our Royal Mail options, click here to see more details. Some people don’t realise that we have Royal Mail options but if your order comes under a kilogram, then our first and second class options will be available to you. Perfect if you just need to get a couple of balloons out to you. We know some people really like the Royal Mail options; we got a call from a customer the other day who ordered Royal Mail first class and it arrived with her the next day. What was impressive about this is that we’re in Southampton and she was in Aberdeen! You have to give Royal Mail credit, they are pretty good! If you need tracking or if you want a guaranteed next day service then the courier is still your best option.

What to do with sack-cloth and a new Darth Vader

New products this week are the very in-fashion Hessian bunting. These measure a couple of meters long and spell out “Just Married” or “Mr & Mrs”. Hang these on walls or as a great table dressing if you’re decorating a rustic wedding! We also have a new airwalker in the form of the bad guy from the new Star Wars film. He is called Kylo Ren and styles himself on the look and lifestyle of Darth Vader, he is essentially a new Vader! At the moment, the airwalker costs the same as the other airwalker balloons but a little tip is that he shouldn’t! The manufacturers have realised that the cost to produce one of these balloons is higher than normal so his price will soon be going up. For now he is still the same price as the others, so if you want a bargain then get him quickly (please no fighting). He will sell really well once the Star Wars: The Force Awakens films comes out in cinemas on December the 18th, and everyone knows who he is!

It’s happened again!

A couple of weeks ago, Nick come in from the warehouse to tell us that two banners had been attached to 1 header card. One lucky customer got two for the price of one there! Well it’s happened again! This time it’s for a Qualatex “Happy Birthday, balloons ablaze” foil balloon (18158). Click on the link and the first person to place an order for this balloon will receive two for the price of one!
