We haven’t done a regular show in a while so Greg’s looking forward to this one!
First off Greg has discovered a new tourist attraction in Northern Ireland (he is originally from there and still visits regularly). The attraction is the Crumlin Road Gaol, Greg says that it’s a great place to visit if a little macabre (you can still see the nooses where they hanged the prisoners) but it is well worth going if you are in the area. Speaking of Ireland, thank you to Orla Clancy for leaving a Facebook review on our Facebook page, we really appreciate it! Orla lives in west Ireland and was impressed with our service as she ordered on a Friday afternoon and received her package Monday morning! We really do appreciate feedback from any of our customers so head over to our Facebook page and leave us a review!

25th a very special day indeed

If you are watching this on the release day of 25th of August then you are no doubt aware that today is a very special day indeed. That’s right, it is: National Banana Split day! Not only that but of course it’s sir Sean Connery’s birthday, he is 85 today and is looking good for his age! Happy Birthday Sean and many more.
In other news, we welcome in two new team members to Balloon Market: Laura and Amie. Laura is working in our customer service department and Amie in our online content team. Say hello if you ever get the chance to speak to them on the phone or if you pop in, it is always exciting to have a growing team.

International reach

Another announcement is that we have reached 2000 YouTube subscribers! Yay! It doesn’t seem that long ago when we were just at 1000. In fact, we have been looking at where are subscribers are based and although a lot are based in the UK, a sizeable chunk are international. We have subscribers in:

Upcoming seasons

I know it’s still hot but Halloween will sneak up on you! We have the full range of balloons and party supplies so head over to our Halloween section to take a look. Best selling items from last year include this pot of fake blood and this Special FX kit: both from Snazaroo. We ordered a lot of stock of these in this year in anticipation but make sure you get these in quickly to avoid disappointment. This year, Amscan have hit the face paint market with their huge range of face paint kits and packs, we might not be stocking the whole range and we need to conduct our tests so see if they meet our quality requirements but we are planning to get some of these products in to complement our range so keep an eye out!

That brings us onto the next big even of the year: Christmas! We put seasonal items on sale between peak times and Christmas is no exception. The sale will end in September however so this week is your last chance to get a bargain for the holiday season. Why not plan ahead and save some money!

New products

New products this week include “Teletubbies” and “In the Night Garden” partyware as well as a few new “Peppa Pig” balloons. We also have these Polka Dot Heart balloons from unique and these Neck-up balloons. If you are unfamiliar with neck-up balloons, they are for air-filling and hanging upside down and so have the print upside-down so it can be read properly. They come in all the milestone ages and in packs of 10. We also have these Marble Balloons in packs of 6. They are similar, and yet different, to the agate balloons from Qualatex and we think they are made by dipping the balloon into coloured latex that has only been mixed a little bit. The effect is this beautiful marbled pattern that most people would never have seen before. Great for making an impression!

On the party supplies side; we have these Holographic Streamers, this glittery “Bride-To-Be” banner and this gift banner for hanging over a gift table at a wedding. Also we have these great Cake Topper decorations that are designed to replace candles on a birthday cake, again a unique design that people won’t have seen before.
