We filmed 3 separate videos that go into detail on the Duplicator, the Dual Split-Second Sizer and the Twin Air Sizer. You can find them by clicking on the thumbnails below.

We’re doing something a bit different this week as Mark Drury from Qualatex takes us through some digital inflation Equipment! These are pieces of professional equipment that digitally time the inflation of balloons, giving you a perfect size of balloon every time, perfect for if you have multiple people creating the same design. There are a few different machines and it can often be confusing as to which one does what, so let’s dive in!

Helium machines

Two machines by Conwin allow you to digitally time the inflation of helium, these are the Duplicator 2 and the Dual Split-Second Sizer.

The Duplicator 2 has a single latex inflator that you can set the time for and an automatic foil cut-off inflator for your foil balloons. This machine best suits a retail shop where you’ve got multiple different people using the machine and you don’t need two nozzles for duplet work.

The Dual Split-Second Sizer is targeted at balloon decorators. It features two digital nozzles for Duplets, you can change the time on each nozzle independently for weighted duplets. One major advantage of this machine over the Duplicator 2 is that you can do double-bubble balloons. The machine comes with an attachment that you attach on both nozzles and insert the other ends in a 16 inch balloon and an 11 inch balloon. With the touch of a button you can get perfectly consistent double bubble balloons every time! This machine also comes with an auto cut-off valve for inflation of foil balloons and a regular high-pressure inflator that’s perfect for bubbles.

Both these machines have a few accessories, if you are used to working with an extension hose on your cylinder, you can get an adapter for the digital inflators. You can also get a 60/40 helium/air nozzle and a hi-float swan neck nozzle to protect the machine from Hi-Float. Both these machines can be used with a Helium, Air or Nitrogen cylinder, making them very versatile. They can be attached to BOC steel cylinders, BOC Genie cylinders and Air products cylinders with the right adapter kit.

Air Machines

This brings us on to the air machines. These don’t require a cylinder and take the air from the atmosphere, compress it and deliver it back to you in a useable pressure for balloons. Two machines that can do this are the Conwin Precision Air and the Premium Twin Air Sizer.

We are going to focus on the Twin Air Sizer, this can inflate any size or shape of latex balloon from standard 11 inch balloons to 160Q modelling balloons! You can even inflate up to quadruple stuffed latex balloons. The Twin Air works by taking little breaths of air rather than one massive gasp, this means it can inflate incredibly precisely and you’re always going to get exactly the same size balloons every time.
