Guinea Pigs and Rose Gold on a Roll – BMTV 123

Summer is here! Yes, we had a mini heat wave the other day and all went out for Ice-cream – very nice! But this means that summer fairs are happening alongside graduations and proms. We said last year how proms are really taking off for balloon decorators and this year giving presents to teachers is becoming as big as well!

New products!

A new stock line that has come into us has been these foil-stamped partyware from Unique! These include mini plates for putting snacks and things on and these foil-stamped napkins. Very Unique! Also new to us is the range of Amscan retail latex packs. We were asked by a customer of ours to get these in and we got the whole range of 42 packs of balloons. We also have some new balloons with some unusual messages like “New Job” and “moo oink baa” which is going really well actually! There is this “happy ½ birthday” balloon which is for people that are born near Christmas time and celebrate their birthday in the summer to avoid having it caught up in the holiday celebrations.

EBPC on Balloon Releases

In other news, you may be aware that we don’t support balloon releases and havn’t for a while. We thought we were quite unique in taking that stance but now it seems that the European Balloon and Party Council now take a similar stance! They advise retailers on their website to never release any balloon into the atmosphere. We really think that if the industry doesn’t support balloon releases then this can only help with the negative press that people receive when they do release balloons.

Rose Gold on a Roll

Now, this is rose gold on a roll. Well it’s actually copper on an adhesive backing. It is used to stop slugs and snails from eating plants and Greg has been using it to stop them getting into his Guinea Pig cage! But this got Greg thinking, is there any way that we as an industry can use this to decorate balloons. Be creative and let us know what you come up with!
