Balloon Basics 24 – How to Inflate an Orbz Balloon

Orbz balloons are a fantastic addition to the Amscan range of foil balloons. They are truly spherical and come in a range of plain colours and printed designs – opaque and transparent – to suit all occasions.

Here at Balloon Market, we’re a big fan of Orbz balloons and think they’re not used anywhere near enough in décor! It may be because, to inflate them correctly, you need to go against all the rules usually applied when inflating a foil balloon and this can scare people!

Orbz balloons are made up of four panels of stretchy foil material which means you need to continue to inflate beyond where you’d usually stop in order to stretch the balloon to create its unique spherical shape.

Don’t be scared to give Orbz a go …. here’s our step-by-step guide to how to achieve perfect inflation:

1) Firstly, take the balloon out of the packaging, unfold the balloon and smooth out the creases.

2) Place a universal tilt or push valve helium nozzle into the valve on the Orbz balloon. Trigger valves may also be used but easy on that trigger! Auto cut-off inflators cannot be used as the back pressure means it will cut-off before you have achieved a fully inflated balloon. Orbz balloons may also be inflated with air using a hand pump.

3) Keep a tight seal on the neck of the balloon and begin to inflate – slowly and steadily! The seams each side of the balloon will ‘pop’ open (this is normal, we promise!). It may make you jump and you may think you’ve burst the balloon but the key here is to keep going … slowly and steadily!

4) Keeping your eyes on the seams, keep inflating – you guessed it, slowly and steadily! – until there are NO creases at all!

And there we go… you’re an Orbz-inflating pro!
