This week on BMTV we interview the fantastic Guido Verhoef, who we got to meet at Amscan’s recent Balloonin’ Marvellous event that took place in Milton Keynes on the 29th and 30th of October 2018. There were 6 guest speakers during the event, including Guido Verhoef.

Guido Verhoef is Creative Director of The Art of Balloons (www.theartofballoons.com), a company that combines high end entertainment with unique balloon creations. They design projects for large events, galas, fashion shows and opening shows all around the world.

He began working as a clown and balloon artist in 1993 and founded his own entertainment company Manifold in 1995. Guido also holds the Guinness World Record (along with Gary Ledbetter) for the largest balloon city ever made, using over 365,000 balloons!

In this interview Guido talks about his career and how he got into the world of balloon decorating. He talks about how balloons are an important tool for communication. He also shares what questions you should be asking your client when looking to decorate for their event or to promote their business and how to get them to think differently about balloons.

He also talks about how balloons are a symbol of celebration and asks Greg why he thinks they are. Guido shares that his favourite balloon is the link-o-loon balloon and talks about why he loves them so much! He shares his ideas on introducing balloon decorating to companies as a teambuilding exercise and how it can be used to get large groups working together. He also discusses how balloons can be a great advertisement tool for companies and to help increase their exposure.

Guido shares his opinions on balloon arches and talks about alternative ways to attract traffic to a company’s front door. He also discusses how it is important to get to know what the customer is wanting for their business and what they want to get out of it as a starting point for any balloon decorating job.
