If you haven’t seen last week’s BMTV show, we visited the Spring Fair 2018 and asked the top manufacturers a suppliers in the balloon and party industry, what they thought would be the hot trends for 2018! It’s a really great show so check it out here. But a quick summary would be that unicorns are still popular but are going to be joined by mermaids this year and we’ve even heard a few people say lamas are coming! The star of the show had to be the Chrome balloons, particularly the double-stuffed jewel-chrome balloons that create some incredible colours. We tried a jewel red balloon with a chrome silver stuffed inside it to create a metal red balloon. You really have to try this for yourself to truly see what colours you can come up with… stunning!

Amscan announced at the Spring Fair that they are going to be the UK distributors for Sempertex and this makes us very excited to see the entire new range of quality latex that Amscan are now suppling. Some highlights from their latex range include rosewood which is a rose-gold, coral type of colour and Greige which is a mixture of grey and beige! They also have a great pastel range of Mother’s Day latex balloons just in time for Mother’s Day on the 11th of March.

Following on from Mother’s Day we have St Patrick’s Day. When is St. Patrick’s Day 2018? It is on the 17th of March. We have a fantastic “Beer-Glass” Balloon that is legally distinct from a very well-known beer that people often drink on St Patrick’s Day!

We’ve stocked vinyl for use with silhouette cameo type machines for a while now and we have just brought in a few new colours, we have orange, grass-green and burgundy which we think is going to be a hot colour for 2018! We’ve even got burgundy in our new feather range as well as lilac, purple and now mint-green!

Something that we’re really excited about is our new sub lites that are rgb lights that you can put under-water and into 3ft latex balloons. They have a remote that you can use even when the light is inside a balloon and has multiple different colours that you can select. These are really great for decorating a dark venue like a club or awards ceremony, they really create a striking image when used in 3fts.
