Thank you to everyone who commented on last week’s Bonkers show! Greg definitely needed a lie down after that one! We had a call this week from a customer asking if they could buy two helium cylinders at the reduced BONKERS prices. Of course you can! Even though this sale only lasts till the end of February, you can pay for multiple cylinders now but only go and collect them alter when you need them! This will save you having to pay rental on a cylinder that you are not using. Tip of the day right there!

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we showed the red love script last week but this week Greg has brought up the Rose Gold love script. Rose Gold is going to be the colour of 2017, there’s numbers and letters from Northstar coming out in the next few months and Amscan are bringing out their Rose Gold Orbz! We have plenty of new designs from Qualatex, Amscan and Norhtstar this year so have a look at our Valentine’s section here. We also have these Valentine’s Day heavy heart weights, perfect for holding down a bunch of balloons and work out 25p each for the pack of 10. You really can’t beat that!

Gender Neutral Age Range

Greg had a meeting with Cerative Party a few weeks ago and decided to get this range of red age balloons in. Traditionally, a lot of age balloons come in either pink or blue, but what if you don’t like pink or blue, or even if you just don’t like stereotyped balloons! Well these gender-neutral age balloons are going to fit the bill! They are great to have alongside an existing range of pink/blue balloons.

New for the Spring Fair

If you don’t know, the Spring Fair is Europe’s largest balloon & party show, it happens every year up at the NEC in Birmingham and last year we went up to film a BMTV show! We are going to do the same this year so keep an eye out for that show next Thursday 9th! Also, if you’re up at the Spring Fair and see us, come over and say hello!

As the show is just around the corner, we got in touch with Mark from Qualatex to ask if we could show off some of the new Qualatex products that they would be unveiling at the Spring Fair. He sent us some samples! Some of these products are out already but they are all new for 2017!

First off is this crown balloon which is just massive! And this non-Facebook thumbs-up balloon which we think has more uses than the Facebook one. Megan attached a mortarboard banner to this balloon as a ribbon, perfect as a congratulations for graduating gift!

Next is this foil age range that are made to look like confetti balloons, they also have matching confetti latex so you can easily create a design that has both foil and latex balloons in it.

There two really great designs for bubble balloons that we love this year. The first is this tropical birthday bubble with lollies and ice-creams on it, we’ve just coordinated it with the tropical latex colour scheme in a 5-inch balloon collar. Next is this baby feet bubble, it has a space on the front so you can see a balloon inside if you were going to do a double-bubble balloon. Or, what we think most people will be doing with these, is you can add a vinyl-cut personalisation to the front of the balloon like we’ve done here. We think that the gold and pink colour scheme is going to become more and more used. We’re also predicting that, as last year’s fashion was watermelons and flamingos, this year will be sunflowers. You heard it here first!

The other thing that Mark sent us was Q-lites. These balloons have a light in the top that illuminate the whole balloon for a unique decoration in low-light! Other people have attempted this before but we’ve found that they don’t float for long or the lights aren’t so good for decorating. These are by Qualatex however, and if anyone knows their decorating, it’s Qualaltex! We’ll be talking to Mark more about this at the Spring Fair but we are hopeful that they have finally cracked the light-up balloon problem!

Snazaroo price increases

Yet another price increase from our manufactures from the devaluation of the pound. This time it is from face-paint manufacturer Snazaroo, they will be raising their prices on the 13th of February. If you use face paint, whether you’re a clown or a face-paint artist, then it might be worth getting your face paint supplies before then to avoid a higher price.

Mother’s Day

Many people are already ordering balloons in for Mother’s Day, I know! Super organised! We’ve been having a lot of stock move already so we’ve got in whole range of new designs!
