Our First BMTV Groupie & Free Sweets! – BMTV 95

Thank you all!

bmtv-groupie

To start off this week, we’d like to say a few thank-yous! First up is Katie from Tether and Flow, who saw the trailer for this episode and thought it was a 9-second episode! She sent us an email voicing her concerns, saying she didn’t want to sound too much like a ‘BMTV groupie’, which really put a smile on our faces!

Next up, we would like to say thank you to Ricki, Abi, Gemma, Shell and Helen, who left some very kind reviews on our Facebook page. We decided a while back not to link up with a reviews website, as we didn’t want to irritate our customers. We may do in future, but for now we’re just really grateful for people who take the time to comment, it’s always appreciated!

Our last shout-out is to our very own Megan Leadley, soon to be Megan Miller. That’s right, Megan is getting married this weekend! All the best to her and her fiancé Andrew, who are definitely looking forward to having a rest!

The Gift of Time

You can get as many cars, houses, possessions, as you like provided you have the money. However, time is one extremely important factor that we simply cannot have enough of! Greg and Mark always talk about the importance of time in their videos together, as many balloon professionals don’t factor in time to their work. We should make the most of it! Greg has heard that we’re only alive for around 4000 weeks (80 years) on average, which doesn’t seem very much when it’s put like that!

Speaking of time, at Balloon Market we aim to save you as much time as possible. We take payments through PayPal, which is a convenient and fast way to pay for your orders. We also have our ‘Reorder Items’ facility, which we find to be fairy under-used. We promise it’s worth using, as it works much the same as an online food shop, where you can reselect all of your essentials. With it you can look at your last 5-10 orders, and with huge orders you can potentially save yourself 20 minutes to half an hour!

One time-saving facility that we do not have on our site is the ability to log in using Facebook. This leads us to the question of the week – If we offered a ‘Log In With Facebook’ facility, would you use it? Leave a comment below to let us know!

Site Updates and BM Helium

You may remember Greg mentioning a while back that our website has undergone an upgrade. Most of this was to the back end of the site that you don’t see, but few systems have changed minorly which may affect the front end. Another big thank you to everybody who let us know if they spotted anything amiss, please continue to let us know and we will make sure to fix it!

If you weren’t aware, BAPIA has a great Facebook page, where balloon professionals can talk and help each other out. Greg spotted one of our customers, Jess, who said that she couldn’t find helium on BM. At first Greg was very confused, but after looking at the site on his phone, he saw that it’s not as clear as it could be. We will work on this, as we do sell BOC helium cylinders in V, T and L sizes. You can get them from your local agent at a discount, or have the local agent deliver it to you and pick it up when you’re finished. There are around 350 agents around the country, so there is sure to be one near you! As we get a volume price from BOC, we can offer you better prices!

This Week’s Products

A few months ago, a customer asked us about tissue paper to use for Balloon-In-A-Box. After that, we began stocking it in various different colours. The pack we have in the studio today each include 240 sheets of unglazed, acid-free paper. As mentioned before, this paper is ideal for Balloon-In-A-Box, it can also be shredded or made into fancy confetti. We also stock gold and silver paper in reams of 10 sheets, and various other colours which are available in our Tissue Paper section. If you would like a colour we don’t stock, please let us know and we will do our best to get it in for you!

Black Friday is on Its Way and a Word About Next Week

Black Friday is even closer now, so here is another reminder to order as far in advance as you can! Some places seem to be following a more spread-out approach to the occasion- Amazon seem to be having a ‘Black Two Weeks’ -so it may not be as bad as last year. However, we still recommend those early orders!

The last thing on the list is next week’s show! Greg is very excited for you to see this, as it features our first ever balloon industry celebrity interview, right here! Our guest has been in the industry for 26 years, has personally trained thousands of industry professionals, and thousands more with her DVDs! We are talking about the wonderful Sue Bowler! If you’re a balloon artist or decorator, you won’t want to miss this. She gives a really good insight into different aspects of the industry, so next week grab yourself a cup of tea, sit down and enjoy!

A quick reminder of our question of the week: Would you use Facebook Login? Let us know in the comments!

That’s it for this week, see you next time!
