Sue Bowler joins us this week to show so show a Valentine’s creation that Sue describes as quick and simple! A perfect easy sale on Valentine’s Day.

This is a simple and easy design, so Sue starts by using a Maxi cup and stick and glues them to a tile. She uses gorilla glue and stretchy tape to do this. The next thing to do is pick your colour scheme, Sue suggests you take inspiration from your balloon that you are going to attach to the top. Sue uses a balloon that has prominent blacks and reds so this is going to be her colour scheme. She warns to be careful when picking your balloon as this balloon also contains notes of blush and graphite so she could have used these as well.

Sue creates a couple of clusters using 5 inch balloons, she starts with black at the bottom of the design as darker colours appear to be visually heavier. You want the design to not seem top heavy as the eye can suggest that the design is going to fall over even if it’s actually stable! So put your dark colours at the bottom of the design.

Sue the repeats the colour combination up the design be reverses it so from black to red then red to black. She also puts an uninflated 11 inch balloon on the top of the straw, to allow for the clusters to be secured in place as latex attaches to latex better than to plastic. The next stage is to attach your clusters and roll tie a latex 260Q into the neck of the top balloon. Tie the 260Q into your design and then you’re done! A quick and easy design for Valentine’s day!
