Rose Gold Latex

Forget ‘Greenery 15-0343’, Rose Gold really should have been this year’s Pantone Colour of the year!!

As most of you are probably aware, rose gold foil balloons are like (rose)goldust although supply from manufacturers is slowly increasing to catch up with demand. However, when it comes to latex balloons of a similar colour, there’s a definite shortage!

That led us to spend an afternoon inflating and double-stuffing Qualatex balloons with a whole host of colour combinations including some from the Qualatex Custom Colour Chart (those with pretty names!) to trialling some of our own to see if we could achieve a suitable rose gold colour. It took a while but I think we cracked it!

From left to right:

1. Soft Beige – Pearl Peach double-stuffed with Blush (inside)
2. Variation of Pink Champagne – Pearl Pink double-stuffed with Ivory Silk (inside)
3. Balloon Market Pale Rose Gold©! – Pearl Peach double-stuffed with Pearl Pink (inside)
4. Balloon Market Rose Gold©! – Pearl Pink double-stuffed with Gold (inside)
5. Pearl Peach double-stuffed with Standard Pink (inside)
6. Misty Rose – Pearl Lavender double-stuffed with Standard Pink (inside)
7. Hyacinth – Pearl Light Blue double-stuffed with Rose (inside)

Personally, I think that Number 4 is the perfect fit so we decided to name the combination after us… Balloon Market Rose Gold©! And number 3 comes a close second.

Having said that, you may also be aware that rose gold foil balloons differ slightly depending on manufacturer. Amscan giant numbers, hearts, rounds, stars, Orbz, Diamondz and Cubez appear to be slightly more pink than the Northstar range of rose gold balloons which may affect the combination of latex you use. I’ve tried to demonstrate the differences with a few pictures below:

Northstar rose gold balloons

The latex balloon on the left in the picture below is ‘Balloon Market Rose Gold’. The balloon in the centre is ‘Balloon Market Pale Rose Gold’ and the balloon on the right is ‘Soft Beige’.

I think all of these colour combinations work well with the Northstar rose gold balloons, although obviously my favourite is the newly named combination Balloon Market Rose Gold©: Pearl Pink latex double stuffed with Gold (inside)!

The photo on the left shows an Amscan rose gold foil heart with a Balloon Market Rose Gold combination and Balloon Market Pale Rose Gold on the right. I think either of these combinations works but I think I’d pass on teaming Soft Beige with Amscan rose gold balloons (photo on the right).

Do let me know if you’ve perfected any of your own colour combinations to make a Rose Gold latex balloon and what name you’ve given it!
