There was a time when, with the exception of seasonal supplements, new products were showcased but once a year, usually at the Spring Fair in February.
However, we’re witnessing a new trend with products coming onto the market throughout the year. This may be to coincide with film launches e.g. Minions and Star Wars or simply an effort by manufacturers to keep ahead of the competition or perhaps a sign of growth in the balloon and party industry?
Whatever the reason, here at Balloon Market, we’ve been alerted to several interesting new products recently so we thought we’d give you a little taster of what’s to come.
A couple of weeks ago, we were visited by a local company who asked for feedback on a prototype of ‘talking weight’. Basically a little box which will record your greeting but also doubles up as a weight for a helium-filled balloon. Still in the process of production, it’s early stages yet but we can see this being a great add-on to balloon and flower deliveries. Unfortunately it’s so new, there are no photos but watch this space for further developments…
Last week, we had a sneak preview of the new colours of bubble weights which will be available from September. Already extremely popular, 35g bubble weights are ideal for holding down foil Supershapes and bubble balloons and we think the new lavender and purple colours certainly fill a gap when it comes to heavy balloon weights.
New in the way of party ranges, we particularly like the ‘Lego’ style partyware which we think will prove to be very popular when it becomes available in a few months.
Talking of popular, I’m going to digress a bit here but did you see the Lego-theme wedding cake which took the world by storm recently? Amazing!
Anyway, back on track… we often mention the increasing popularity of giant balloons with tails, be they handmade, ready-made tassel garlands or metallic tails and we think this new range of fringe tissue garland, in a variety of colours, will extend the choice further.
Finally, wedding post boxes! Very popular for couples who don’t have a traditional wedding list but instead opt for money gifts. Available in traditional ‘post box’ red or cream, these post boxes look striking on a gift table. They are made of metal and stand almost 1m tall. We think after a couple of rentals, they’ll have paid for themselves!
And so, that concludes the latest round-up of new products which have caught our eye. As always, we love to hear your thoughts so please do comment below, send us an email or get in touch through one of the many social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, etc..).. we’re all ears!
