BMTV 22 – Profit from Prom and Balloon Apples!

Hello and welcome to BMTV episode 22.

Summer is upon us and with it comes the end of the school year and graduation! Do you have any idea how much people are spending, on average, on their school proms? £244! Some people are even spending upwards of £1,500! This just shows how prom nights have taken off over here in a big way and this increased spending means that the prom industry is now worth £80 million a year! If you want some of that £80 million industry then why not get the only prom night balloon available! At the time of writing, this is the only prom night foil that is available (that we could find) but with the rapid growth of the industry we expect to see more next year – you saw it here first!

Also rising in popularity year after year are gifts for teachers as kids (and their parents!) compete to get their teacher the best gift. We have Best Teacher foil balloons and Thank You Teacher latex balloons, but if you’re after something unique and special then here’s how to create an apple from a modelling balloon! You’ll need bee body balloons for this trick.

apple1Inflate the balloon a small amount and twist or tie the end.
apple2Wet your finger and push the knot through the balloon.
apple3Holding the black tip of the balloon, push inwards and grab the knot.
apple4Pull the knot out of the other side of the balloon and twist 4 or 5 times.

There you have it! An apple for teacher, made out of a balloon! Check out our bonus video for further details on how to make this balloon!

New products in this week are our range of party boxes, these are supplied in packs of 6 and are big enough for a sandwich if you’re having a pack-lunch party or are equally good for filling with party favours, tasty treats or a piece of cake! We have the party boxes in a selection of plain colours and party themes including Pirate and Birthday Princess!

Also new in this week is an addition to our candy swirl range, we had the red and the green colours in for Christmas for a kind of candy-cane themed party, but we now have the blue, the orange and the pink in stock! A great idea came from Rachel, our resident Balloon Decorator, to wrap these in florist cellophane and tie of the ends with ribbon to create a great looking wrapped-sweet balloon. You can air-fill these for hanging at a party indoors or out (although they won’t float with helium). The surplus balloons that we used for filming are still hung up in our office and look great!

Have a great week and tune in next week!
