Hi and hello! It’s time to interview another guest in our next post for The Balloon Market Blog!

Today we’re talking with Chloe, a fellow member of the Web Content Team! Originally joining us in the Warehouse, Chloe moved to the role of E-Commerce Administrator where she does a range of exciting tasks: from uploading new products to our site, doing a variety of data reports and most importantly: taking professional photos for our social media pages! So, let’s learn all the facts about Chloe…

On the Meet the Team page, you’ve listed a fun fact about yourself. Tell us more about that!

Ok, so my fun fact is ‘If you can’t find Chloe, she’s probably at Café Thrive.Café Thrive is a vegan café in Southampton. When I first started here, I used to go at least once a week. That’s tailed off a lot since Covid, but I used to spend quite a lot of time there. All the people that worked there knew me by face; not quite by name, it wasn’t that bad. I’d normally get a coffee and cake… they used to do really good cookies too!

What do you enjoy most about working at Balloon Market?

I feel like it’s a very creative role. Even though I’m not doing something ‘creative’ every single day, I still take up the product writing, taking the photos for our Instagram, consumption reports; I feel like I can get really involved with different parts of the business!

Do you have a favourite product that we stock?

Anything that PartyDeco sell. All of it’s so adorable: I love the packaging and the balloons are just really fun. I also really like all the new craft products we’re currently getting in. I’ve already bought a sketchbook and I’m going to do a scrapbook for next year, which means I get to buy loads of pens and paper for that!

What’s a modern trend that you just don’t get?

Puffer Jackets: I think they look disgusting. Especially the shiny, holographic styled ones… I just hate them, get them out of here! Burn them, I don’t care what you do with them! You end up looking like the Michelin Man!

What’s the No.1 thing on your Bucket List?

This is really boring, but I’d really like to go to Amsterdam because I’ve never been. I’m a huge fan of Van Gogh and would really like to go and see the museum there. Or the Museum of Modern Art in New York; I just really like art galleries! I’d like to visit lots and lots of them.

What’s your favourite kind of food? Is there a restaurant that you love to go to?

Mainly just comfort food, pasta dishes especially. One weekend we had pasta on Friday, then pasta on Saturday, and THEN pasta on Sunday. It was a triple pasta situation. However, my favourite restaurant is probably Wagamama, because half of their menu is vegan which I think is really cool!

If someone gave you £100 right now, what would you most likely spend it on?

Probably stuff I don’t need. Camera, film, clothes: take your pick really. I’m an online shopper, my favourite clothing brand is Lucy & Yak …I am wearing two items of their clothing right now. They’re just so fun and colourful. It makes a change from all the black I used to wear when I was a teenager.

Is there something that most people like that you don’t?

I have a strong dislike for the singer Yungblud. He’s just really annoying and sounds like he’s trying to be Gerard Way circa 2005 (from My Chemical Romance), just too much. He’s a bit whiney, and loud, and I don’t like that in a person…

It’s common knowledge that you are a huge fan of Taylor Swift. Do you have a particular song or album of hers that’s your favourite?

That’s like picking a favourite child! Her new album Midnights is very quickly becoming one of my favourites. I also really like Speak Now and Reputation… those are my holy trinity. My favourite song though, I really like Paris, Karma and Maroon – those are my Top 3 from Midnights.

Do you have a question for the readers?

‘What’s your favourite Taylor Swift song? And if you don’t like Taylor Swift…why not??’

A huge thank you to Chloe for joining us in this week’s post! You wouldn’t believe MY knowledge of Taylor Swift… did you know I can name at least…one…of her songs? I think? I’m much more of a film person than a music person anyways, sorry Chloe.

Let us know your answers to this week’s question below! See you all next time!
