With fast internet speeds becoming widespread and cheap filming devices becoming available to everyone, it’s no wonder that online visual media has taken off in a big way over the last few years!
While online video started life filled with cats and teenage bloggers, it swiftly became a powerful tool for businesses who have the means to utilise it. It is a lot easier to share a video than paragraphs of text, and the average internet user spends 88% more time on a website that has video content than one that doesn’t. Although most videos on YouTube are now preceded by an advert, only 24% of brands are using online video to market to consumers. (This is why you are likely to see the same ad again and again!) Video marketing is still in its infancy and an untapped resource that we aim to employ.
Why we do it
Although we do use videos to advertise our business, we love the idea of being able to talk directly to our existing customers, and see video as a great way of keeping in touch. We have product demonstration videos on our website to complement our merchandise, and also release our weekly newsletters in the form of our BMTV videos! We believe that it gives people an insight into who we are as a business, and is a great way to talk directly to you. What to expect on BMTV
In the pipeline are interviews with big-name suppliers such as Amscan and Northstar, so stay tuned to see what they have to say about current trends in the balloon and party trade. We are planning to do a lot more “how to”, retail and decorating tips for those of you that are just starting out in the business, and of course there will be lots of exciting new balloons that you can keep up-to-date with through our BMTV videos.
