To start with this week we have a few dates for your calendar! First off, if you are watching this on the 21st July, then happy Junk Food Day to you! Yay, that means you can go out and get a guilt-free burger or pizza. Also on the 21st is ‘get to know your customers day’, so please leave a comment below and tell us something about yourself! Finally we will be closed on the 31st August, as it is a bank holiday, so if you need balloons for that day please make sure to place an order beforehand.

So, summer is here and it’s hot hot hot! The weather is perfect for a BBQ, and we have the party supplies to match. This includes the new BBQ range from Unique, which includes both normal-sized plates and the larger tray-like plates for putting hot dogs and burgers on. There are also paper cups, a tablecover and two sizes of napkins, so there is plenty of choice. We also have a fantastic BBQ pig balloon that complements the range perfectly, particularly if you’re having a hog roast!

We also have a new bunting in stock which Greg has christened ‘Funky Bunting’. It is made of card, and has been die-cut with a funky filigree-style pattern. This means that if you have a dark background to decorate, putting this bunting on top will make a great contrasting pattern. Perfect for weddings.

Moving onto balloons, we have this colourful ‘Day of the Dead’-style skull and this watermelon balloon which are both quite trendy right now. Also new to us is the famous Grumpy Cat in balloon form, both a supershape and an 18” round foil saying “Better with age… Nope.” Perfect for spreading some birthday cheer. Kind of.

Next up we have some new cardboard box weights that come in a rustic cardboard colour, which will create a must-have style for weddings and go nicely with our Hessian bunting. We also have some new red and green metallic box weights, perhaps a bit more Christmassy but they look great!

We are keen to know your opinion on these Silk Rose Petals (pictured below). We are unsure whether to stock them or not, so you need to tell us! Lastly this week, Greg found this 4 inch heat-sealed heart in someone’s bin… ahem… So he retrieved it, and proceeded to stand on it! (As you do…) He wanted to see how much pressure the heat seal could hold before breaking. However, what he found out was that the heat seal didn’t break at all, even with Greg’s full weight on it! This just goes to show how strong heat sealing can be.
