Different Sizes of Latex Balloons – BMTV 82

This week we talk about SIZE… of latex balloons!

We stock two different brands of latex balloons, Qualatex and Belbal balloons. Both have their uses; Qualatex inflate to the same size and shape every time but Belbal are more cost-effective and are still a great quality balloon. We have a variety of sizes available so we thought it would be a good idea to take you through them.

Qualatex

Let’s start with Qualatex. We have 5-inch balloons which are great for decorating. You can use them for making bases for topiary trees, making collars for balloons, balloon clusters, the list is endless. If you’ve watched any BMTV with Mark then you’ll know how essential they are to balloon décor. Next is the 11-inch balloon, this is the staple for the industry and has become the standard size for latex balloons. Next is the 16-inch, this is used for doing double-bubble balloons, balloon-inside-balloons and if you just want bigger balloons for bouquets. The largest balloon-shape that Qualatex do is the 24 inch and this is massive! Be careful when inflating these, make sure to use an inflator with a long nozzle to reduce the risk of the balloon becoming pear shaped.

Belbal

Now the Belbal balloons; we have the 10 inch, 12 inch and the 2ft. The 12 inch is more or less the same size as the 11 inch from Qualatex but still has some stretch in it if you wanted to go further, these are great for helium filling and tying to ribbon. The 10 inch from Belbal is considerably smaller than the 11 inch and is great for air-filling and putting on sticks or for balloon drops. The larger balloon from Belbal is the 2ft balloon. This is a more spherical balloon than the Qualatex 24 inch and takes a lot less helium which makes it great for creating an impact at weddings.

Now we do have even bigger balloons than this from Qualatex. You are probably familiar with the 3ft balloon as they are very popular at weddings. They are so impactful just on their own that you don’t need to add anything to them and are a great, simple space-filler. The next size up is the 4ft balloon and we are starting to enter Cloudbuster territory. These are made from Chloroprene (a mix of natural and synthetic latex) and are popular for out-door events such as music festivals. Next we have the 5.5ft balloon which is almost as tall as Greg! These are also used for throwing into crowds but if you were to helium fill them that would take a whole T-size cylinder! The biggest balloon we hold is the giant 8ft chloroprene balloon! This takes 4 people to hold and took us 20 minutes to inflate, if you are going to helium fill is takes a full L-size cylinder so it is quite expensive!

That’s it for this show, question of the week this week is, what is the biggest balloon you have ever used?
